Game activity shows Garry's Mod instead of Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. The 'Game activity' feature shows that I'm playing Garry's Mod on the bottom left corner, but Discord shows that I'm playing Half-Life 2 in both the member's right bar and in the 'Game activity' menu in the options (which is not correct because I'm actually playing Half-Life 2. I have almost no clue about computer games as I have just started to play them and a friend of mine told me to get Garry's mod so I got It and when I click play I get a blue screen and then it pops up saying HL2.exe isn't working or something?I don't know what to do and I would love to play the game. GMod is a Sandbox Modification. Using GMod you can pose ragdolls. This means can position people from HL2/CS/DoD and change their faces. A big comic book creating community has popped up around this feature.
You're never running the game - you're running the engine, telling it to select a given mod (note how the games are run like hl2.exe -game cstrike, for example). The exe file is just a bootstrap that prepares the engine, and loads the actual mod (like Half-Life 2 or Counter Strike: Source), which in itself is a bunch of data and DLLs. After exiting Prop Hunt (a game mode of Garry's Mod from Steam), I get MalwareBytes reporting the following two IP addresses as being blocked.
1) 188.165.2.12
2) 198.27.64.67
This happens pretty much every time I play the game. I have downloaded many maps/textures/taunts from Steam so I don't know how to isolate the problem.
